SXSW

I was a bit asleep about the whole South by Southwest thing until it was upon us. But thanks to friends who were coming to town, I wised up in time to catch at least a little music. It was fun to check out the sights, although I did feel very old. The hipster quotient was OUT OF CONTROL. My friend Jenny, who was visiting from Reno, and I started out at this place that was having new bands every half hour. I was already slacking from working that day so when I saw the bar with the tequila I figured that I might as well start drinking. After all, it was five o'clock somewhere. So I ordered a margarita (yum my fav) and went to pay the bartender when he informed me that it was on the house. Yippee. I planned on staying at that venue ALL DAY.One interesting thing was that everywhere you went you saw people with cameras, cell phones, ipods that they were fidgeting with constantly. This is probably not news to most of you who actually live in the world, but for suburban ivory tower dwellers like me it was eye opening. So here are some pics I snapped. Nothing special, but at least it gives you an idea of the goings on.
