Noticing

There are two funny things about Austin I have been remarking upon lately. One is the plethora of Texas Longhorns (the UT football team) paraphanelia ranging from tees to flags to tatoos. It is everywhere, even moms pushing prams are wearing the orange tees. And there are signs all over town announcing that football is coming soon. I told Josh that the only reason that I am excited for football season is so that I will know when to go grocery shopping. That's the great thing about the Superbowl—best time to go shopping since no one is in the stores. The second thing is the abundance of 80s music playing everywhere—doctor's offices, radio stations. It's big here. Not that I really mind except that I feel like I am trapped back in a never ending high school time warp. The radio was playing Genesis the other day. For God's sake G-E-N-E-S-I-S. My legs started having a visceral reaction as they began to itch from the ghost feeling of the Cathoilc school wool skirt I used to have to wear. Phil Collins' voice equals scratchy wool in my crazy world.
