What Do You Do When Speed Doesn't Work?

I have been low energy all weekend and this morning was no different. All I could think was that I had a million things to do and all I wanted to do was lay in bed and read (I know, I know, just like every other day). So after I had my daily coffee and was feeling NO effects I decided to try something stronger. I rummaged through our medication drawer (which is vast due to the fact that we are two heavily medicated and heavily experimented on people) and found my dexedrine. Yep. Speed. Just like the fifties housewives used to use.I was prescribed it a few years ago when I was so depressed and already so heavily drugged, but still unable to get out of bed. The dexedrine was meant to give me a boost. And boy did it. The first day I took one it was like WATCH OUT I AM THE QUEEN OF PRODUCTIVITY. Gradually the effects became duller, but I must admit that I LOVED it. When I became pregnant with Ben, well let's just say that dexedrine is not smiled upon by obstetricians. So I gave it up. Until today. I popped one this morning and I was sure that it was going to be a butt kicking day. I waited. And waited. And nothing. Nada. Niente. So I ask you, where do you go from here? Where do you go when even SPEED does not give you energy? And don't give me some lame Tom Cruise answer about diet and exercise.
