Confessions of a B-Movie Queen

Since I am trying to procrastinate from working, I thought I would make a confession. It's about movies. Bad movies. That I used to love. I mean LOVE. As in, watch over and over and over.Let's start with Zapped. Never heard of it? For good reason. This gem of a film starred Scott Baio and Willie Ames (of 'Eight is Enough' fame). I have no idea what I liked about this. I think it was the revenge of the nerd aspect, but mostly the teen angst romance between Baio and Felice Schachter (whose acting career has been a bit, shall we say stagnant, since her teen years). I am such a sap for a little romance. Another favorite was War Games with Matthew Broderick and Ally Sheedy. Luckily these two will go on to work on more redeeming films in the future. I remember seeing this on the big screen while visiting relatives in Florida with my mom and brother. It could have just been the relief from the boredom of the relatives or the coolness of the air conditioning, but I was ga-ga over this movie. Lastly, I will leave you with this one, Center Stage. You are going to see that this one was not made in the early eighties (which might make it excusable since I was still in high school) but in 2000, when I should have known better. Again, is it the predictability of the plot or the banality of the writing or just the insipid acting that draws me in? Who knows. Okay, that is enough confessing for one day. I need to hang on to some dignity after all.
